The original first few seasons of The Real Ghostbusters were anime (Japanese Animation) until the studios changed companys, the artwork remained good, but less detailed.

The original voice cast featured Aersnio Hall, a late-night talk show host (as the voice of Winston Zeddmore) ,also the original voice cast featured Lorenzo Music (Voice of Peter Venkman) better known for doing the voice of ‘Garfield’ and Carlton the doorman from the TV Show ‘Rhoda’.

Frank Welker (the voice of Ray Stantz and Slimer) who has had alot of voice roles in many cartoon shows. Maurice La Marche (Voice of Egon Spengler) who is also better known for the voice of ‘The Brain’from ‘Animanics’, the cast also featured Laura Summer who was the Voice of Janine Melmitz.

The show ran from 1986 to 1988, one of the longest running cartoon shows,it was taken off the air, and placed in Sydincation because Adults thought the show was to violent for younger children. The show started off as a Saturday Morning cartoon, (Which were aimed at the younger children) and then went on to an afternoon weekday format, where the epsiodes were aimed towards older kids.

A spin-off series was made in 1988, ‘Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters’,which ran until 1990, but it didn’t do well at all, it lacked the exicment the original series had, also they were to many changes. only two members of the original voice cast were in the spin-off, Frank Welker and Maurice La Marche. Dave Coulier from ‘Full House’ now did the voice of Peter Venkman, and Buster Jones did the Voice of Winston Zeddmore, also to many other additonal voices had been added. Other changes in the spin-off, saw Janine with a new hair style, Louis Tully appearing in some of the epsiodes, and Slimer talking! so that you could understand him.

The original Ghostbusters movie is still one of the highest-grossing comedy movies of all time

When Dan Aykroyd originally also wrote the script with Harold Ramis he wanted John Belushi to play the role of Peter Venkman, but after Belushi’s Death, the role was later offered to John Candy who turned it down, and then offered to Bill Murray, and the role made him a star!

Dan Aykroyd is the only one out of the GB cast who belives in the supernatural IRL as he has had alot of close encounters of his own.
